About Rantoul, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Rantoul, Illinois is a growing Champaign County village with approximately 13,000 residents. The community was named for former U.S. Representative Robert Rantoul, Jr., who served as a director of the Illinois Central Railroad. Rantoul was laid out for the railroad in 1854, and a post office established the community in 1856. Today, rail service is available to Rantoul via Amtrak, which offers service to Champaign-Urbana, Carbondale, Centralia, and other communities, and it can even take customers 115 miles north to Chicago.
As a growing community, there are a variety of attractions and businesses of interest in Rantoul. Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch is a popular destination for families with children. The village features eight beautiful neighborhood parks, which offer sports fields, water and play areas, and beautifully groomed landscaping. Antique lovers might want to check out The Estate Resale Shop or D & G Sports Cards & Antiques, while other specialty shops are available at Popalicious Gourmet Popcorn, Bell Sports, and Deena’s Style Shop.
Typical of the Midwestern U.S., Rantoul experiences a humid continental climate. During the winter, conditions are snowy and cold, so residents need to invest in the right climate control system. While daytime highs during January – the coldest month – reach the mid-30s, thermostat readings call fall into the teens overnight. To stay warm, residnet should consult with an experienced HVAC technician to find an appripiraltey sized and efficient furnace.
In the summer, conditons tend to be humid and hot, and considering the fact that Rantoul is found in Tornado Alley, severe weather is qutie common. Daytime highs often reach the upper-80s or even hotter, so a central air conditioning system with a good SEER rating is a necessity. By investing in the right home cooling system, residents can guarantee a comfortable and enjoyable summer, and an experienced HVAC techncian can help residents to make the right decision.
